Christchurch's Council says there's no reason a local club had to turn away a woman with a moko

Christchurch's Council says there's no reason a local club had to turn away a woman with a moko

After a night out on the town with friends on the weekend a woman was denied entry to strip club Calendar Girls.

She says a bouncer came up to her - and apologetically told her they have a no face tattoos policy.

She later messaged the club's Facebook page - and a staff member told her it was a part of their alcohol licensing agreement.

But Christchurch City Council staff released Calendar Girls' licence to Newstalk ZB last night.

Regulatory compliance head Tracey Weston says face tattoos are not a condition - but she might've been turned away because of the club's security plan.
