Wellington's cycleway and carpark debate is heating up again

Wellington's cycleway and carpark debate is heating up again

A number of Wellington City Councillors are calling on the city to look at ripping up the separated cycleway - running alongside the city's Botanic Gardens.

Hundreds of adjacent car parks were removed as the bike lane was being built - in what the council described as improvements.

City Councillor Diane Calvert says everyone should have access to the gardens.
