The Government's being urged to extend more help to businesses, if Covid-19 restrictions are extended

The Government's being urged to extend more help to businesses, if Covid-19 restrictions are extended

We'll find out at 5.30 this evening what will happen with the alert levels.

Former Business New Zealand head Phil O'Reilly says the Government didn't come to the party last time, and he's not confident it will step up this time either.

He says the support needs to be well thought through, because it's not just about the wage subsidy, businesses need cashflow too.

O'Reilly says a lot of businesses are on the brink and this is likely to push them over.
