Fears a proposal to restrict cigarette sales could force the closure of many dairies

Dairy owners protested the Government's proposed restrictions on tobacco sales this morning.

The plans would limit the sale of cigarettes to specialist stores or pharmacies.

Masterton Dairy Owner Raj Patel was among those demonstrating, and says it could be really damaging.

He says it's because it would have a significant impact on shop owners turnover.
