Price hikes and fake sales have risen in Black Friday offerings

Price hikes and fake sales have risen in Black Friday offerings

Pricing and comparison service PriceSpy says nearly 1 in 5 products it listed saw a price hike on Black Friday, an increase of 7 per cent compared to last year.

More than 1 in 10 products offered a fake sale, where the price is hiked ahead of sale day.

PriceSpy tech expert Jordan Tini says this makes items look like they're a great deal.

Mr Tini says the Amazon Echo went to 180-dollars the week preceding Black Friday, and then went back to 100-dollars.
