Westpac is warning Kiwis about a sophisticated scam involving a fake bank investment prospectus

It is formatted to resemble a Westpac document and includes professional-looking imagery.

Chief Risk Officer Carolyn Kidd says a handful of would-be investors have encountered it after searching online for investment and term deposit information.

When they enter personal contact details, the scammers email or call them.

She's asking people to be vigilant.
