Concern for the future of food waste in New Zealand

Concern for the future of food waste in New Zealand

An Aotearoa Food Rescue Alliance survey shows 82 percent of people find it disgusting one third of food produce goes to waste.

Three quarters of Kiwis believe the Government should be doing more.

It currently provides 10-million-dollars annually, to support food rescue and food banks.

General manager Iain Lees-Galloway says that's due to run out in June.

He says many organisations will have to scale back their operations as a result - and more food will end up in landfill.
