Commercial e-scooters are being blamed for an increase in scooter injuries in the capital

Commercial e-scooters are being blamed for an increase in scooter injuries in the capital

Today's Medical Journal has found E-scooter injuries rose markedly in Wellington, after Flamingo and Beam branded scooters began operating on the city's streets in recent years.

It says E-scooter related hospital visits increased by more than 20 times in Wellington, with injuries typically worse from accidents in the capital compared to other cities.

It blames the city's mountainous landscape for the increased risk.
