No signs demand for rentals will cool anytime soon

No signs demand for rentals will cool anytime soon

Trade Me's November Rental Property Index shows a nationwide median weekly rent rise of 4.2 per cent year on year.

Demand for properties was also up 17 per cent.

Trade Me Property's Aaron Clancy says until there's a spike in supply, high rents will be the new normal.

He says for about a year now they've seen strong growth in rental prices and the number of tenants looking for a property.
