New research shows consumers turn sour from soft drinks when a sugar tax is imposed

The WHO has found a sugary drink tax decreases sales by 15 percent -- without affecting manufacturing jobs.
Dental Association spokesperson Rob Beaglehole says the reason we don't have a soft drink tax in New Zealand, is not because there isn't enough evidence in favour of it.
He says it's all about politics.
Beaglehole says the Government has promised no new taxes this term, so if they get again in 2023, hopefully they'll implement a similar tax to the UK.
