    NZ Post mail deliveries in towns and cities could be cut to twice a week


     
     
    The Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment is proposing slicing a day off deliveries in urban areas.

    In rural areas it would drop from five-times-weekly, to three.

    NZ Post stopped Saturday deliveries in urban areas four months ago - and they ended in rural parts eight years ago.

    Compared with 20 years ago, the number of mail items has dropped by 813-million.
