Auckland Airport is cutting its airline passenger charges for the next two years

Auckland Airport is cutting its airline passenger charges for the next two years

It would bring its targeted returns back into a range judged reasonable by the Commerce Commission - after a report found them unreasonably high.

But Airline Representatives Board Executive Director, Cath O'Brien, says not all airlines will benefit.

She says the nature of aviation means airlines won't necessarily fly the same amount in the next two years - as they did in the past two.

O'Brien says airlines who've already paid the higher prices, may not necessarily benefit fairly from a reduction.
