The All Blacks captain is back for the Crusaders as they welcome the Highlanders in the penultimate round of Super Rugby this weekend

Scott Barrett will start in coach Rob Penney's second row for the home side on Friday night, after missing the Waratahs win with a finger injury.

Halfback Mitchell Drummond will start for the first time this season in his 150th game for the franchise.

Flanker Oli Haig is out with a foot injury for the Highlanders.

Hurricanes loose forward Brayden Iose is out for the rest of Super Rugby, while they have ruled out backs Ngane Punivai and Riley Higgins from Friday's match against the Reds in Brisbane.

The Chiefs have made just one change from the side that beat the Crusaders for Saturday's home game against Moana Pasifika, with Samisoni Taukei'aho starting at hooker and Brodie McAlister dropping to the bench.

Moana Pasifika fullback Willy Havili is out injured with Solomon Alaimalo into the starting team on the left wing.
