All Whites coach Darren Bazeley believes the 1-nil win over Ivory Coast was valuable preparation for the World Cup next year in more ways than one

All Whites coach Darren Bazeley believes the 1-nil win over Ivory Coast was valuable preparation for the World Cup next year in more ways than one

The Canadian Shield win over the reigning African champions came largely without the use of usual skipper Chris Wood, who only came on with 10 minutes remaining.

Bazeley says it was a big season for the Nottingham Forest striker so they are balancing giving him the rest he needs and seeing some other options up front.
