    A personal best for shot putter Maddi Wesche at the Diamond League meet in Oregon


    The Olympic silver medallist has recorded 20.06 metres to place fourth - the first time she's thrown over 20 metres in competition.

    American winner Chase Jackson threw 20.94 metres.

    The next best of the New Zealanders in action was Sam Tanner - who was sixth in the men's international mile.

    Teenage sensation Sam Ruthe finished down in 13th after he had to avoid a fallen runner inside the first 200 metres.

    Men's shot putter Tom Walsh threw 21.50 metres to place eighth.

    Para athlete Anna Grimaldi was third in the women's 100 metres mixed classification race - Mitch Joynt ran a personal best to finish seventh in the men's 200 metres mixed classification event.
