    A former Warriors halfback is being backed to become Newcastle's new head coach in league's NRL


    The struggling Knights are on the hunt for a replacement after announcing Adam O'Brien will step down after their final regular season game on Sunday.

    Current assistant Blake Green - who played 55 games for the Warriors between 2018 and 2020 - is the frontrunner to step into the top job.

    Veteran prop Jacob Saifiti says Green is a strong man manager - and he'd be more than happy if he was given the role
