    Tottenham football captain Cristian Romero's ban could extend beyond one match


    The Argentine defender's been charged with acting in an improper manner after being sent off in Spurs' 2-1 Premier League defeat to Liverpool last weekend.

    A frustrated Romero did not immediately leave the field and argued with the referee after being shown a red card for kicking out Liverpool's Ibrahima Konate .

    Romero - who is already missing Tottenham's trip to Crystal Palace on Monday morning - has until January 3rd to respond to the charge.
