England batter Joe Root's confident they can capitalise on tougher batting conditions on day three of the final Ashes cricket test at Sydney

England batter Joe Root's confident they can capitalise on tougher batting conditions on day three of the final Ashes cricket test at Sydney

Australia will resume on 166 for two with opener Travis Head unbeaten on 91.

Root - who scored 160 as part of the tourists 384 - says they were a little guilty of trying to force it with the ball late on day two.

Play is set to resume at midday.
