Rory McIlroy is welcoming the decision to play the PGA Championship on a public course for the second straight year

The first Major Championship starting tomorrow morning is being held at Harding Park in San Franciso, a municipal course used as a parking lot for the 1998 US Open.

McIlroy says they often play on private courses which are some of the best in the world.

The PGA of America says all 156 players in the field have passed Covid protocols ahead of tomorrow's start.
