The Southern Steel have appointed highly credentialed Australian Jess Whitfort as an assistant coach for the 2026 ANZ netball season

An Aussie national pathways selector since 2023 - she's also led the Queensland Firebirds academy and Swimming Australia's high performance programmes.

Head coach Wendy Frew, in her second year with the Steel, says Whitfort's wealth of experience will be vital.

The full-squad will assemble for pre-season in Invercargill on Monday.
