The leader of Advance New Zealand has stepped down after the party's election defeat

The leader of Advance New Zealand has stepped down after the party's election defeat

Billy Te Kahika reportedly informed the other candidates of his decision last night.

Former National MP Jami Lee Ross says it's sad for them all, given the huge effort put into campaigning.

But Ross says it's not the end of the party - which is beginning to plan, prepare and work towards election 2023.
