Ashley Bloomfield says it's still far too early to say whether the Papatoetoe Covid cluster has been contained -- and when Auckland's lockdown can end

Ashley Bloomfield says it's still far too early to say whether the Papatoetoe Covid cluster has been contained -- and when Auckland's lockdown can end

The Director-General of Health isn't aware of any further community cases overnight.

But he says further testing needs to be done, before officials will be confident to move Auckland out of Level 3 and the rest of the country out of Level 2.

Bloomfield says no one should be letting their guard down this week.

One of the latest people to test positive has been facing heavy criticism, for going to the gym after getting their Covid test.

But Otago University psychology expert Celia Lie says it's important to remember young people haven't fully developed their frontal cortex - which is responsible for things like following the rules.
