New Zealanders are being urged to step up against 501 deportations

New Zealanders are being urged to step up against 501 deportations

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and Australian's new Prime Minister Anthony Albanese will hold their first bilateral meeting in Sydney today.

Ardern has indicated she wants to discuss Australia's deportation policy - which sees even long time visa-holders booted out for minor crimes.

Route 501 Advocacy and Support's Filipa Payne says she prays Albanese acts in good faith... but has little hope much will change.

She says if people want to see change, they can join their legal action and help them address the human rights issues at the United Nations.
