    Two former MPs ousted from their respective parties are trying a political comeback in local Government


    Jami-Lee Ross, who was booted from the National Party over allegations of leaking information about then-leader Simon Bridges, is bidding for Howick Local Board.

    Elizabeth Kerekere, who ditched the Greens over bullying allegations and a probe into her behaviour just two years ago, is running in the Maori Ward for Gisborne's District Council.
