Kiwibank's head says more capital will help it have a greater impact in the market

Kiwibank's head says more capital will help it have a greater impact in the market

Parliament's finance committee has been hauling in New Zealand's banks for questioning for weeks, investigating sector competition.

The Government has already directed Kiwibank to court KiwiSaver funds and investment institutions - to raise half a billion dollars capital.

Chief executive Steve Jurkovich says it will help, but the bank has made other changes not capital driven.

He says they have taken a big step towards having a more inclusive wardrobe, have B Corp certification and are strongly purpose driven.
