Confidence in a clinical trial aimed at treating chronic pain

Confidence in a clinical trial aimed at treating chronic pain

Health tech company Exsurgo has created a helmet-like device, which shows patients their brainwaves on a tablet.

The trial involves 116-patients in Auckland, and is being conducted by researchers at AUT and Waitemata DHB.

Chief Executive Richard Little says this has been a long time in the making.

He says it would be foolish to enter into a clinical trial, without proper research.

If successful, the device could be rolled out to hospitals and medical clinics across the globe by mid-next year.
