Two new blood cancer medications could soon be available to patients as pills, with one accessible through private clinics

Two new blood cancer medications could soon be available to patients as pills, with one accessible through private clinics

Pharmac is proposing to fund the treatments for chronic lymphocytic leukaemia, which could be available from May.

Health Minister Simeon Brown says the first-line treatment will make a real difference.

He says it lets patients spend less time in hospital, and more time getting treatment in a way that's better for them.
