The Prime Minister's butted heads with National leader Chris Luxon over efforts to clear the country's hospital waiting lists

The Government's today revealed plans to tackle the backlog - directing a new taskforce to deliver a plan by September.

It'll be managed nationally by the interim Maori Health Authority and Health New Zealand, rather than at a DHB level.

But Jacinda Ardern's come under fire in the House - with Luxon questioning the bureaucracy of another working group.

Ardern says using clinicians to inform decisions is a good idea.
