    New Zealanders are being urged to be vigilant, as 78 people are quarantined with measles


    The first case of in the infectious disease was confirmed last week and it was linked to overseas travel.

    The infected person visited a number of public locations in central Auckland.

    Someone with the disease can infect 12 to 18 people by being in the same room.

    Dr Bryan Betty says people should limit their movements.

    He says if people think they have measles, they should ring their medical centre for advice, as they risk spreading the disease if they turn up to their medical centre.
