    A reminder there are no spare doctors


    It comes from the union Specialty Trainees of New Zealand, which represents all Resident Medical Officers.

    Junior doctors from Christchurch were called in to keep Timaru Hospital's emergency department open at the weekend.

    STONZ Executive Jordan Tewhaiti-Smith says these are not additional staff brought in to fill gaps, they are doctors giving up their scheduled days off to support their colleagues and keep services running.
