Goodwill's being shown to Wellington medical staff during the Covid crisis?in the form of sturdy bike locks

Several frontline medical workers have had their bikes stolen from Wellington Hospital in the past week, sparking the regional council to team up with a nearby bike shop to donate new locks.

Bicycle Junction owner Dan Mikkelsen says it was the right thing to do.

He says whenever there's a crisis in New Zealand people seem to rally together, so they just wanted to contribute to that.

Dan Mikkelsen says most of the bikes stolen had small or weak locks, which could be broken with bolt cutters in 10 seconds.
