Northland Police are trying to figure out whether a kidnapping last night, and a shooting this morning ... are connected

Northland Police are trying to figure out whether a kidnapping last night, and a shooting this morning ... are connected

The kidnapping was reported to Police about 8am, after a male victim approached a Matauri Bay property, asking for help.

He said he'd been abducted near Waipapa, not far from Kerikeri.

Police have found a grey 2010 Nissan Skyline, that had been set alight on Puketotara Rd, near Okaihau, just before 5 this morning.

Police say the vehicle involved in the shooting of a police car near Puketona Junction shortly after 4am, was a silver or grey sedan.

Anyone with information or sightings of a Nissan Skyline, registration M-W-D-8-3-9, should contact Kerikeri Police.
