A shooting at an Auckland luxury hotel sparked a wide-spread response from armed officers today

Police say a gun was fired at the Sofitel Hotel on Viaduct Harbour Avenue just after nine this morning.

A worker at a nearby business says a man was led away in handcuffs by officers soon after.

Police then rushed to a property in Orakei - where an eagle helicopter assisted ground staff.

Police say two people from that address, and a person located at the hotel ... are assisting with enquiries.

There are no reported injuries.
