Victim support have been called in to help members of the public caught up in an armed incident in South Auckland today

Victim support have been called in to help members of the public caught up in an armed incident in South Auckland today

Two members of the public were forced from their car by three men trying to evade police.

The hi-jacked car then struck another vehicle carrying a woman and two children.

Initial reports suggest a firearm was presented at the two people whose car was snatched.

Police have since located two firearms inside a vehicle that failed to stop prior to the car-jacking..

Inspector Joe Hunter say it was an incredibly volatile situation - the men's actions were reckless and dangerous - and it's fortunate no-one was seriously injured.

    Three men are in custody.
