The trio will appear in court early next month after a two-year investigation following the acquittal of Alan Hall for murder in 2022.
The Supreme Court's quashing of his conviction led to the biggest compensation payout in New Zealand's history.
Assistant Commissioner Paul Basham says the summons has been issued against two former Police staff involved in the original homicide investigation, and a former Crown Prosecutor involved in Alan Hall's prosecution.
He says they'll be charged with what Police allege was their role in Mr Hall's murder conviction.
