The jury presiding over the trial of a 14-year-old boy accused of murdering another teen at Dunedin's bus hub, will begin deliberations today

The jury presiding over the trial of a 14-year-old boy accused of murdering another teen at Dunedin's bus hub, will begin deliberations today

Sixteen-year-old Enere Taana-McLaren died of a single stab wound on Great King Street last May.

The accused has pleaded not guilty on the basis of self defence.

Closing arguments were delivered yesterday - and the jury must now decide whether to convict the boy of murder, or manslaughter.

The Crown says the accused deliberately attacked the victim with a knife - while the defence wants the jury to consider the boy's trauma, and attempt to protect himself.
