Police are at the scene of a firearms incident in the Napier suburb of te Awa

A 26-year-old man was arrested about 4 this morning in Napier.

He's due to appear in the Hastings District Court tomorrow on firearms-related charges.

Hawke's Bay Area Commander Lincoln Sycamore says it's an isolated incident and police aren't looking for anyone else.

He says there's no information to suggest anyone was injured.

    The scene remains cordoned off.
