An operation targeting illegal street racing saw three people arrested and four vehicles impounded in Palmerston North last night

Three people have also been summonsed for driving with excess breath alcohol.

Police were made aware that a large gathering of vehicles was planned.

Manawatu Area Prevention Manager Senior Sergeant Phil Ward says they understand the meet-ups can be disruptive for residents, and they'll be continuing their presence at these events.
