A coroner's highlighted concerns about the 'run it straight' trend - while referring to a rugby league player's death in 2023

A coroner's highlighted concerns about the 'run it straight' trend - while referring to a rugby league player's death in 2023

Open Justice reports Tere Livingston died after getting two head knocks within weeks, in league games.

His death was unrelated to Runit - a contest in which people barrel into each other - but Coroner Bruce Hesketh has pointed out death can still occur - even with concussion management practices in place.

A Palmerston North teen died last month, after getting a head injury playing Runit.
