Police have seized five weapons in Levin, while investigating a spate of gang-related shootings in the town this week

Police have seized five weapons in Levin, while investigating a spate of gang-related shootings in the town this week

Two people have gunshot wounds, and a house and a shed have been shot at, in four separate firearm incidents.

Officers declared a Gang Conflict Warrant on Thursday allowing them to search vehicles belonging to those involved for weapons.

Manawatu Area Commander, Inspector Ross Grantham says the same day they declared the warrant, they found two firearms.

He says yesterday officers stopped two vehicles and found two firearms and a large knife.

Inspector Grantham says they're also making ongoing enquiries into drug importation and dealing.
