Children without internet access will lose out in their education if changes aren't made to the welfare system

Children without internet access will lose out in their education if changes aren't made to the welfare system

The Covd-19 lockdown is putting pressure on welfare families and child poverty is likely to lift as unemployment rises.

Child Poverty Action Group spokesman Justin Latif says the poorest families don't have access to the internet and this will hurt children as more schooling goes online.

Latif says the benefit is too small for parents to provide a good living for their families.
