The Green Party is promising to make tech and the internet accessible to all ... if it's re-elected

The Green Party is promising to make tech and the internet accessible to all ... if it's re-elected

Co-leader James Shaw announced today the party will follow Internet New Zealand's five-point plan for closing the digital divide.

That means ensuring access to affordable internet and devices, and giving training in digital skills.

Shaw says if you can't access the internet you're increasingly excluded from the economy ... and society.

He says if people are struggling to make rent or put food on the table - it's a bit tough to ask them to shell out for an internet connection.
