More than two-thousand Northland properties are without internet due to a damaged fibre cable

RNZ reports a digger damaged the cable between Whangarei and Dargaville at about 8am.

It supplies broadband to all customers in Dargaville, Ruawai, Paparoa and Maungaturoto.

It's unknown when it will be fixed.
