    There is a large-scale telecommunications outage across the South Island's West Coast


    West Coast Emergency Management says it understands from Chorus that it's affecting all copper land lines, cell phones and fibre from south of Punakaiki to Karamea.

    Chorus says teams are investigating the cause of the outage.
