    Former Minister Stuart Nash was wrong not to release most of his emails with donors, when asked by a journalist under the Official Information Act in 2021


    That's the findings of Chief Ombudsman Peter Boshier, who investigated after the journalist re-opened the complaint this year.

    An email sharing cabinet information with a donor saw Nash dismissed as a Minister in March -- but it wasn't released when a journalist asked two years ago.

    On the request, Nash withheld 14 emails related to 19 donors -- considering them out of scope -- but Boshier 's found 11 should have been released.

    He also found the office of then Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern didn't support Nash's refusal.
