Nelson Airport has been evacuated, after Police say a concerning email was sent

Police are working to establish the origin of the email and have yet to establish if there is any actual threat.

Multiple police cars, fire and ambulance could all be seen at the airport, but Fire and Emergency has since left.

More than half a dozen arrivals and departures have been delayed, according to the airports website.

Police are advising members of the public to avoid the airport until the incident is resolved and contact their airline for more details.
