There's a call for the Government to give more support for students during the latest lockdown

There's a call for the Government to give more support for students during the latest lockdown

The New Zealand Union of Students' Associations wants the student hardship fund that was introduced in the first lockdown, to return - which supported those who lost their jobs.

They also want more money made available for student mental health due to the stress caused by yo-yoing alert levels.

NZUSA national president Andrew Lessells says the government cannot allow COVID 19 to ruin students' entire year.

He says it's important particularly at the start of the academic year for them to be supported.
