Extra measures are in place to support students exams after a disrupted year

Extra measures are in place to support students exams after a disrupted year

NCEA and scholarship exams start today.

Auckland, Waikato and Northland students will get an Unexpected Event Grade if they don't attend their exam.

If they sit the exam, they'll get the better of the two grades.

Auckland students can also get extra Learning Recognition Credits and credit requirements for subjects and University Entrance are lower.

Christchurch Boys' High School Board Chair Leeann Watson says NZQA understands the disruption.

She says regardless of whether NZQA makes the adjustments, there's the requirement that students have done the work throughout the year.
