    A balance between the interests of teachers, and financial difficulties in the public sector


    The boss of public sector CEOs is leading collective bargaining talks.

    Public Service Commissioner Sir Brian Roche is planning to take a more active role in negotiations -- saying its partly influenced by managing financial pressures.

    He expects settlements and payouts to influence other negotiations, reiterating its important to get it right.

    It comes as the Ministry of Education is without a permanent boss -- extending the term of its acting education secretary by a further year.
