Better communication could be the key to lifting parent turnout in school board elections

New data from Schooled NZ, which runs about 16-hundred online elections nationwide, shows fewer than 33 percent of parents voted this year.
That's up from 19 percent in 2019 - but the NZ School Board Association says much more needs to be done.
President Meredith Kennett says parents need to trust who they're voting for.
She says it's important boards are in touch with their community, sharing information - so more people know what they're voting for.
